Marriott provided a tough test
Sponsored by Bob Bardsley (Footjoy)
A full field enjoyed sunny weather with a gusty wind and a challenging course at the great venue of Marriott Worsley Park.
Good scores were hard to find in the early starters before the cream rose to the top to set up a tight finish.
It was a day to remember for Disley Golf club as their players dominated the leader board.
OoM professional leader Josh Crumplin (Disley assistant professional) kept up his hot form with a clear win as he posted 40 points to lead in the individual pro section from Jamie Howarth (Davenport) 37 and Dave Green (Dukinfield) and Scott Howarth (Davenport) both 35.
Disley’s dynamic duo of Ian Ridgway and Manchester Captain’s Captain Steve Misell led in the pro am section with 43, one more than Jamie Howarth and John Nightingale (Shaw Hill) who won a cpo on 42 from Josh Crumplin and his Bramhall partner James Cash.
It was tough in the am am section with Alliance legend Jimmy O’Reilly and Alan Leigh (Worsley) winning a cpo on 42 from Richard Harper (Sale) and David Wilson (Sale and Conwy), one more than home pair Steve Hindle and Steve McCormick.
The nearest the pin prize went to James Cash (Bramhall).
Alliance president Ian Brooks (Bolton Old Links) gave deserved thanks to the kind weather gods, all of the players and the staff on and off the course and to sponsor Bob Bardsley (Denton) before he retires from Footjoy.
