Alliance Captain leads from the front on his debut
Sponsored by Club Systems International
A full Alliance field of professionals and amateurs enjoyed some great weather and a challenging course at Dunham Forest Golf Club to start their busy new winter series.
It was the first event for the new Alliance Captain Don Milligan (Ashton-on-Mersey) and a very memorable one as he partnered Ashton-Mersey assistant professional Gabe Bagshaw to a great haul of 45 points to top the pro-am section.
The course had great memories for Gabe as he helped his club team to victory in the 2022 Dunham Forest Trophy for the first time in their history.
Their score took them two points clear of Andy Earlam and Neil Bamford (Saddleworth) who won a cpo from Callum Blinkhorn and Dan Crook (Leigh) and Jamie Howarth and Paul Robinson (Davenport).
Callum Blinkhorn won the top pro prize with 39, one clear of Jamie Howarth, Gabe Bagshaw and Andy Palmer (Chorley).
It was also close in the am am section with John Kilner (Hart Common) and Tom Baker junior (Worsley Marriott) on top with 43, one clear of six pairs.
Getting the nod in the cpo for prizes on 42 points were the old firm of Charles Herbert and Ross Birch (Stockport) and Steve Hamlet and Wayne Lindsay (Disley).
The final prize for the Nearest the pin was won by Jed Howorth (Breightmet)
