Jamie’s too hot to handle at brilliant BOL

BOLTON Old Links GC came up trumps again for a full field at the popular Team of Four competition.
Despite some very wet weather on previous days the course was in neat and challenging condition and there was fine weather with a very brisk breeze plus superb views from all angles of the course.
There was a full house for the event, with a waiting list, despite several regulars enduring conditions in soggy Scotland.
Cool hand Chris Bibby set the early pace for the individual pro prize with 37 but Mr Cool Craig Corrigan (pictured with the rest of his team) matched this soon after.
Then the Alliance Order of Merit reigning champion Jamie Howarth (Davenport) came up with a superb seven-under-par 43 to win for the second week in a row finishing six clear of Chris and Craig.
It was a great day for Jamie as he steered his team of Paul Robinson (Davenport) and Charles Waldron Kelly and John Nightingale (both Shaw Hill) to a winning team score of 88, one more than Leigh’s fab four of Callum Blinkhorn, Dan Crook, Andrew Potter and John Taylor.
In third spot on 86 were Scott Howarth’s team who won a cpo from Chris Bibby’s team.
Jamie completed a rare hat-trick by also winning the Nearest the Pin prize.
Compliments to Bolton Old Links in setting up a pleasant and friendly 19th hole by the 18th and ninth greens due to the clubhouse being closed due to repair work.
