Josh and Chris are untouchable
Sponsored by Graham Frees of Royal Regent
After last week’s cancellation at Whitefield due to course waterlogging some heavy overnight rain and a wet weather forecast Reddish Vale Golf Club put in a great effort to allow a full Alliance field to complete the competition.
The course was in fine condition and even steady rain towards the end of a drab day did not prevent some excellent scoring.
Alliance OoM leader Josh Crumplin (Disley) maintained his consistent good form to post the top individual pro score of 42, two clear of Ryan O’Neill. Mark Smith (Stamford) led in Scott Jackson (Disley) Jamie and Scott Howarth (Davenport) and Criag Corrigan, all 39.
Josh got the usual excellent support from his regular playing partner Chris Jackson (Tytherington) to cruise to victory in the pro am section with 48.
Next in was Ian Ridgway and his Disley colleague Neil McGuinness 44, one more than Ben Thompson (Werneth Low) and Lee Hadfield (Dukinfield) and Mark Smith and former Alliance Captain Steve Finan.
Tom Kirton (Prestbury) and James Cash (Bramhall) topped the Am Am section with 45 from Mike Grainger and Andy Angelone (Stamford) 44 and Carleton Weldon and Spencer Lavery (also Stamford) 43.
The Nearest the Pin winner was Luca Davies (Styal).
