Local knowledge pays off for Scott
DISLEY Golf Club gave its typical warm welcome and their scenic course with fantastic views was enjoyed by another full Alliance field.
Alliance Captain Chris Lee (Mellor and Townscliffe) brought bright, warm weather back with him from his golfing holiday in the sun to make this a very pleasant day.
It was home pro Scott Jackson (Pictured) who showed his deep knowledge of the subtle twists of the course as he enjoyed a great double success.
He led in the individual pro section with 40 points from Rob Braithwaite 38 and Order of Merit Leader Jamie Howarth (Davenport) and Alliance legend Craig Corrigan, both 37.
Scott then won the pro am section with partner Neil McGuinness((Alderley Edge) posting 46 points to finish two clear of Jamie Howarth and Davenport partner Paul Robinson, Anthony Millar and Simon Hamnett (Ellemere) and Craig Corrigan and Phil Cooney (Dean Wood).
It was Flixton to the fore in the am am section with their dynamic duo of Bob Barrow and Keith Middleton well clear after posting 43 points, three more than Chris Exton and Anthony Cavanagh (Stamford) who won a cpo from Alistair Holloway and Gary Owen (Denton) and Mike Fenton (Styal) and Don Milligan (Ashton-on-Mersey) and John Kilner (Worsley Marriott) and Terry O’Mara (Ellesmere).
Nearest the pin winner was Paul Barlow (Stamford)
