National Alliance Championship for the John Dowd Trophy

Excellent competition enjoyed by all

OAKMERE GC in Nottinghamshire were the proud and excellent hosts for the National Alliance Championship playing for the John Dowd Trophy after a break last year due to Covid on the Admirals Course.

In the mix were two teams from the hosts and Derbyshire plus MDGA and Halifax and Huddersfield with one each.
Each team fielded five pro-am pairs and the top four pairs counted for the aggregate score.
There were also prizes for the individual professional scores.

Representing the MDGA were Captain Chris Lee (Mellor and Townscliffe), Chris Bibby (Bury), Kris Andrews and Paul Crisp (Ashton-on-Mersey), Mark Hancock (Stand) and Mike Healy Scott Jackson (Disley) and Neil McGuinness, Haydn McCullen and Josh Corrigan(Ashton-on-Mersey).

The hosts dominated as Notts 2 were the winners with 158, one clear of Notts 1.
The other scores were Derbyshire 1 150, Derbyshire 2 147, MDGA 146 and Halifax and Huddersfield 134.

The top pros for MDGA were Scott Jackson (Disley) and Haydn McCullen (Ashton on Mersey) who were joint third. (Pictured top right).
